The Best of MBA Follies

Each year, small groups of students at many of the top business schools produce short sketches that poke fun at everything from the school’s idiosyncrasies to pop culture trends. Even other business schools aren’t safe, though it’s all in good fun. We’ve chosen our top five favorite follies from the last few years.

5. Mean Girls - HBS

Two helpful HBS students give the new girl from Canada the rundown on life as a Harvard MBA.

4. House of Cards - NYU

Stern students parody the drama and intrigue of the House of Cards over grade non-disclosure.

3. MRS - Columbia

Three CBS students sing about getting their M-R-S degrees to the tune of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.”

2. MBA Assemble a Malm Bed from IKEA -Wharton

How would MBAs from Wharton, Stanford and other b-schools go about assembling a bed from IKEA? Let’s just say none of them majored in engineering in undergrad.

1. The Munger Games - Columbia

14 Students from the top business schools compete in a Hunger Games-esque tournament to win a position at Berkshire Hathaway.

Though we’re sure the students in these videos have a wonderful career in business ahead of them, it’s always nice to have something to fall back on. Runners up include Cornell Johnson’s “Recruiting with Bain” (or Bane, as the case may be), NYU Stern’s music video “Zacklemore,” UCLA’s “The Most Interesting Man in Business School,” and CBS’s “Bitch in Business.”
