Introducing Catherine, Our New Marketing Intern!

LTG Exam Prep would like to introduce you to Catherine Guo, our super smart, social media savvy marketing intern! To make this introduction more fun for you and Catherine, we’ve provided a Q&A so you can get to know her better.

Q1. What were you doing before you started working at LTG Exam Prep?

I was a high school English teacher in Fukuoka, Japan for two years. After returning to the U.S., I worked as a part-time ESL teacher and tutor with the local YMCA. My experience teaching English as a second language has helped me realize how strange and difficult English can be for people who aren’t native speakers. Don’t be discouraged if English is hard for you to master-it’s a tricky language!

Q2. Why are you interested in education and edtech?

Education introduces people to more opportunities, and I’m especially excited about how technology has made high quality educational resources accessible to anyone with a computer or smartphone. As a former teacher, I’ve seen firsthand how education contributes to students’ growth and development. When more people can access good course materials through technology, more people can experience the benefits that education provides. I’m proud to work at a company that makes quality test prep available to anyone with a mobile device.

Q3. Tell us one interesting fact about you.

I can speak three languages! English, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.

Q4. Any good books you’ve read recently?

Lately, I’ve been reading The Three-Body Problem, a sci-fi story originally published in Chinese. As someone who majored in linguistics in college, I have always been fascinated by languages and I love to discover books from abroad that have been translated into English. I think everyone should read literature from around the world, even if it’s a translation into your native language.

Q5. Your favorite Instagram filter?

So many choices! If I had to pick one, it would probably be Valencia.
